How to Find the Best CS:GO Betting Sites

In this section we'll tell you what criteria we used to select the best Australian bookmakers to bet on CS:GO. Although we focused primarily on CS:GO, that's not the only important criterion. We've also noted the general features that make your Esport betting more or less comfortable.

Availability of CS:GO markets

Logically, this parameter comes first. Not all Australian bookmakers provide Esports markets. We've selected a few that have it.

Variety of tournaments

Major tournaments are only held a few times a year. The rest of the time there are CS:GO regional leagues, academy tournaments and more. We favour CSGO betting sites with a lot of tournaments to choose from, where the matches are conveniently grouped by league.

Range of markets

In the lower leagues, you will often only find bets on the winner and, at best, map handicap. In more prestigious tournaments, best CS:GO betting sites provide you with wider choice of bets. And if you can place bets on outrights and players' personal stats, that's top class.

General characteristics of a betting site

Of course, you also have to pay attention to the general characteristics of the betting site. Roughly speaking, what is the point of having a wide range of markets on CS if you can't make a deposit easily?

It's important that the betting sites offer a comfortable service in general: the choice of payment methods, simple deposit and withdrawal, and comfortable navigation. In our Counter-Strike top, all bookmakers provide convenient service (almost half are identical), so this criterion was not a priority.

Top Betting Sites for CS:GO Bets

An international betting giant with British roots, founded in 2000. There are events at all professional levels, from top-tier like ESL and BLAST, to the CCT Tier 2 tournaments, and even the unpopular ESEA Advanced. The number of bets on top matches is about 100: there are several Race to (3, 6, 9 rounds) markets, bomb detonation O/U and bets on players' stats.

However, the O/U and handicap markets for the whole map and the first half of the map offer only two opposite options each, which means you can only bet, for example, on Over or Under 26.5 rounds on the map. Instead of a wide range of O/U and handicaps, there is a winning margin market for certain maps - you bet on the team to win and the range of rounds they should win with. This cannot be called an adequate alternative, but it is still better than nothing. On the plus side, all correct score options are available for almost any match. For unpopular markets, there are around 20 options - a decent choice.

Live streaming is only available for popular matches. On the Esports page, the "Bet Boost" section provides options for betting with enhanced odds. You can fund your account with Visa/Mastercard (+ Visa Click to pay), PayPal, paysafecard, POLI, Flexepin, Apple Pay and Google Pay, bank transfer.

Pros:

  • The widest range of markets
  • Tournaments up to Tier 4
  • Markets with enhanced odds

Cons:

  • Two markets for O/U and handicaps per map and first half of the map

The BetRight website promoted different bookmakers for almost a decade, before opening a betting platform at the end of 2021.

The bookmaker has organised a quality mobile-first service. The mobile version loads quickly and there are apps for iOS and Android, but the full version of the site is chaotic. The list of sports is collapsed, so you wouldn't know at a glance that they accept bets on Esports here. The Esports page shows a few matches at different levels, while you have to search for the rest on the tournaments pages linked in a separate menu. The site arrangement cannot be called intuitive, although everything looks more or less familiar on mobile devices.

There are plenty of tournaments, but the range of markets is poor. Even for the most popular matches, there are about 10 bets: these are team wins on different maps, Over/Under and handicap bets. For niche matches, there are only bets on team wins. The low margins (just over 6%) are a clear advantage.

Deposit methods: Visa/Mastercard, PayID and bank transfer.

Pros:

  • Best odds on CS:GO
  • Easy-to-use mobile version
  • Large selection of tournaments

Cons:

  • Few markets
  • Few payment options

Picklebet is a young Australian bookmaker, founded in 2020. It focuses on Esports and positions itself as the leading Australian Esports betting site. Esports occupies the homepage of Picklebet's website.

There are over a dozen CS:GO tournaments. For most of them there are more than 80 markets. It is formed primarily with a huge selection of handicaps, O/U and correct score (from 0:16 to 15:15 both ways) markets. And the handicaps can be very big, e.g. (-11,5). Bets on all maps separately are accepted long before the event.

There are also outrights, but this category is often empty.

The disadvantages of Picklebet are high margins as well as poor choice of payment methods: only cards and POLi are accepted here.

Pros:

  • The best selection of Esports disciplines
  • Interesting design
  • Betting tips

Cons:

  • Few payment methods
  • High margin
  • Communication with support is only via chatbot

BetStar offers more than 10 CS:GO tournaments to bet on. There are over 50 markets available for most matches, regardless of tournament status. Only for very niche events, such as the IESF World Championship, the range of markets is poor, with is still a dozen bets.

Here you can bet on O/U, map handicaps or rounds handicap, but the selection is small, usually one handicap and one O/U per map. There are O/U match rounds, but no personal player stats or outrights. While it's not much by the standards of the world's leading Esports bookmakers, it's one of the best offers among Australian betting sites.

BetStar's margin is not bad for Esports: 7-8%.

The site has a good selection of payment methods: Visa/Mastercard, PayPal, BPAY, Flexepin, PayID, as well as BetStar's own card.

Cons:

  • Esports is not in the homepage menu - you have to search through all the sports
  • Communication with support only by phone or email

Ladbrokes is a British giant that came to Australia in 2013. There are four bookmakers in our top list that all use the same line: Ladbrokes, BetStar, Neds and Bookmaker.com. It would be unfair to exclude any of them, as it's a good line: plenty of competition, a decent enough range of markets and margin is not higher than 8%. You can read more about CSGO betting at all the "twins" in the Betstar review.

Payment methods at Ladbrokes: Visa/Mastercard, POLi, PayPal, PayID, BPAY, Flexepin.

Cons:

Neds started operating as an independent bookmaker in Australia in 2017, but was bought out by Ladbrokes a year later. Now, these CSGO sites differ mainly in colour schemes.

Besides, Neds promotes its own card, which can be used to pay in shops.

Payment methods at Neds: Visa/Mastercard, Neds Card, PayPal, BPAY, POLi, PayID and Flexepin.

Cons:

And the fourth of the twin sites with the unpretentious name - Bookmaker. Like Neds, the CSGO betting site offers its own Bookmaker card, which can be used like a normal Mastercard, including for purchases.

There's the same good selection of events on Counter Strike Global Offensive, plenty of payment methods and apps for iOS and Android. And there are just as few live events and live streams.

The payment methods at Bookmaker.com are Visa/Mastercard, PayPal, BPAY, POLi, PayID, and Bookmaker Card.

Unibet provides some of the best odds on Counter Strike Global Offensive in Australia (after BetRight). The margin is around 7-7.5%.

It is a reliable and reputable UK-based company that was founded in 1997. They got the Australian licence in 2012.

The choice of events is not great. When the competitors offer 10-13 tournaments, Unibet provides only six. The range of markets is minimal: one winner market, one handicap and one O/U.

Outrights on BLAST Premier Final tournament 6 days before the start, which is a plus.

Unibet's payment methods: debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, POLi, PayPal.

Betfair has been operating in Australia since 2006. It is a betting exchange, meaning that it is not the bookmaker who places the markets, but the bettors themselves. You can offer a bet for (back) or against (lay) a particular outcome, and then wait for the punters to accept it.

Due to this structure, the choice of events in CS:GO is very small - just a few matches.

The biggest advantage of Betfair is that you can offer the opponents the odds you wish.

Betfair's payment methods: Visa/Mastercard, Neds Card, PayPal, BPAY, POLi, PayID, Osko, Skrill, Neteller.

CS:GO Betting Promo

In Australia, it is illegal for bookmakers to attract new customers with promotions. Therefore, you won't know what bonuses the bookmakers are offering for CS:GO bettors until you register.

However, we assume that you won't find many of these welcome bonuses even after you register. Most Australian bookmakers take CS:GO betting rather lightly, and their offers can't be called solid compared to some other countries where Esports are more popular.

A major blow to Esports betting in Australia has been the ban on in-play betting. Because in Esports in-play betting is preferrable. Pre-match betting on Esports is very difficult: to make a prediction you first should see the picks, i.e. the opponent's choice of map in CS:GO or the hero in Dota 2 and LoL.

Most Australian bookmakers don't offer Esports betting at all right now. So it's unlikely that there will be plenty of promos dedicated to Counter Strike Global Offensive. Perhaps only Picklebet has some CS bonuses - the bookmaker is positioning itself as a particularly Esports betting site.

Can you trust skin gambling sites?

What is CSGO gambling? Basically, it's like traditional casino games, only instead of money, users bet with so-called CSGO skins - colouring books for weapons. And it's not a game for candy wrappers, because some of these CSGO skins are very expensive, and acquiring them in CS:GO is very difficult. Here, for example, are a few lots on one of the markets. As you can see, the cost of the vast majority of items starts at $400.

CS:GO skins prices

CS:GO skins prices

Obviously, in such an area, there are a lot of scammers. Skin CSGO gambling sites used to be more popular, and then Valve (the creator of the game) introduced a 7-day delay for purchasing and transferring in-game items in CS:GO. The purpose of this decision was to protect players from scammers. It made trading more complicated and unpredictable. Players started using cryptocurrencies to buy and sell CSGO skins.

We always recommend that our readers only bet on licensed betting sites. However, there are no licensed CSGO gambling sites that allow skin gambling. It should also be noted that even if you buy a skin for a few thousand dollars, it won't make the weapon shoot better

CSGOEmpire: Is it licensed?

CSGOEmpire is one of the most famous sites where CSGO skins can be raffled off and traded. It has a Curacao licence, one of the most common among offshore bookmakers. The company is not based in Australia and is not subject to local law. According to Match.Center policy, we consider such gambling websites to be unlicensed and we do not recommend it.

Types of Bets on CS:GO

There aren't many bet types in CS:GO. For Tier 2 and Tier 3 tournament matches, most bookmakers will only offer the most basic: a win for one of the teams and possibly Over/Under map and map handicap. For major tournaments, the choice of markets is usually wider. Here's what you can bet on in CS:GO.

Over/Under Maps

There are three match formats in CS: best-of-1 (bo1), bo3 and bo5. The latter format is not played very often. Probably because it is too long.

In bo3, you can bet on how many maps will be played: two or three. In bo5 it's four or five.

Handicap

There are two types of handicaps: by maps and by rounds in a certain map. Map handicaps are (-1.5) / (+1.5) in bo3. In bo5 there are also handicaps (-2.5)/(+2.5).

There is more variety in round handicaps. In CS the map is played until 16 wins. Therefore the handicaps can also be different. Sometimes bookmakers offer all handicaps for every map, even (-15.5).

Correct score

As a rule, the correct score is counted by map wins. In bo3 it even looks a little ridiculous: you can choose from scores of 2-0, 2-1 and 0-2. These are essentially the same markets as just a win or a win with a handicap (-1.5). Although sometimes due to bookmaker errors, the odds may differ slightly, but not critically.

In rare cases, the bookmaker may suggest betting on the correct score of a map, but that is about the same as betting on the correct score in basketball. It's possible that these markets have been added just to visually make the range of markets more extensive.

Individual stats (Prop bets)

Bets on the performance of individual players by results of a match or tournament. It may be a bet on the best player of a tournament, using full personal statistics, which consist of several indicators (the data is taken from HLTV, which has its own system of the player's rating score). Or a conditional micro-match in which two players are compared, usually of the same role. For example: who will make more frags in a tournament - S1mple or mONESY; who will have a higher percentage of headshots - b1t or Twistzz.

Outrights

Here everything is just like in any other sport: bets on which team will win the tournament, who will play in the final, and who will make the playoffs. Only in CS the number of these bets is usually smaller. And not all bookmakers offer outright bets at all.

Deposits and withdrawals on CS:GO Betting Sites

Some punters may confuse the requests: CS:GO betting sites and CS:GO gambling sites. Although they sound alike, they are very different, especially in terms of depositing and withdrawing money.

On gambling sites, CSGO skins are raffled off and traded. Since Valve has restricted the transfer of skins with a 7-day delay, cryptocurrencies are often used for the exchange. Depositing, in this case, can be tricky, as in general all cryptocurrency manipulation is more complicated than the good old dollars we are used to.

Our article is about CSGO betting sites, and there are no deposit problems here. Register on the website, grab your debit card and make a deposit. In a minute, the money will be credited to your betting account - and that's it, you're ready to bet.

Finding the Best Odds for CS:GO

Every bookmaker puts a margin into the odds on offer. Margin is a percentage of the money they take for themselves from each bet. The lower the margin, the higher the odds. In the table below, we have compared CS:GO odds from the best bookmakers, using 4 bets as examples - three matches and the odds on the favourite in Outrights section.

There is no Betfair in the table, because it is an exchange - there the odds are set not by the bookmaker, but by the bettors themselves.

Pros and Cons of CS:GO betting

Betting on CS:GO is not fundamentally different from betting on 'real' sports. In both cases, you can bet on one of the teams to win, Over/Under and individual player stats. However, there are a few advantages and disadvantages of CS betting.

CS:GO betting pros

CS is not a bookmaker's priority

A bookmaker may not understand CS as well as you do. They don't analyse the game as deeply as most popular sports like horse racing or American football. This can give you the edge. When setting the odds, the CSGO betting sites are likely to be guided by statistics that you have as well. If you watch matches regularly, you will have more information.

Also in CS betting the odds sometimes shift in favour of the more mediocre team. This was the case, for example, in the BLAST Premier Fall Finals match between Team Liquid and G2 Esports on 23 November 2022. The bookmakers gave the teams almost equal odds, but G2 was the slight favourite. Although that team was in crisis at the time and had shown a rather weak game in their recent matches. Liquid, on the other hand, was fine, and in the end they won 2-0. The lower odds on G2 were probably due to the fact that the team is simply better known, and its players are in the media spotlight more often.

Easy to study statistics

All the stats for the more or less known teams are available on one website - hltv.org. Unlike other sports, you don't have to study several statistics websites, and you don't have to think about buying a subscription somewhere. All the information is in one place and it is free.

On hltv.org you will find the results of the teams' matches, their win rates over a specific period or on a specific map and all the players' personal stats. Here's how it looks like:
