About us

Match.Center is an independent analytical website and aims to be the go to guide for the online gambling world.

Our mission

Our philosophy is that betting should be viewed as a source of entertainment, one which uses your brain. Generally all forms of entertainment are more fun the better you are at it. The mission of the Match.Center team is to teach you everything we know about bookmakers, their bonuses, their apps and the betting markets that they offer in order to make it easier for you to make the right choice and have fun. Our flagship product is our bookmaker ratings and reviews, where each is evaluated by our expert team on nine distinct criteria.

Our principle

The main priority for the Match.Center team is that our readers can trust what we say. It is true that we are paid commission from the bookmakers, but they do not control us. We realise that without reades we will not have a business. This means that the interests of our readers are always more important to us than that of the bookmaker’s PR team. To serve these interests we work using the following three principles.

Honesty. When analysing bookmakers, we give a fair and honest assessment, even if it is uncomfortable for them. We have these assessments for all betting companies in every country that we operate in. If we decide that a bookmaker is better than another, that means it offers a better product overall in our opinion. More betting events and broadcasts, great bonuses and higher odds compared to the competition – this is the only way to get a higher assessment and rise in our ratings.

Clarity. Betting companies often offer thousands of betting options with dozens of bonuses, and we aim to explain how everything works in detail and with examples. We apply ourselves fully to making the information complete and relevant and are ready to spend hours talking to the customer support, so that you do not have to waste your time doing it yourself.

Analysis. When assessing bookmakers, we are guided by our own observations and verifiable facts. We do not take into account hearsay, rumours, or the writings of other websites, but instead do our own independent research.

What isn't on Match.Center: Our red lines

  • We DO NOT tell you which bets to place. This is always your choice at the end of the day, we just help by providing the relevant information for you to make the decision.
  • We DO NOT suggest that betting will make you money. If somewhere you are promised the opposite – it is a lie. In the long run, almost all bettors lose to bookmakers. Always treat betting as just fun and not a way to make money.

  • We DO NOT give preferences to betting companies simply because they are large brands or they pay us more commission. If in our ratings a bookmaker is above its competitors, this means that they have done something better than the others (and we can prove it!).

Andrew Heaford

Site Manager

Andy has been involved in the online gambling industry since the beginning and has seen massive changes in the twenty years he has been taking part. Originally drawn in by the “Bonus Boom” at the beginning of the Century he went on over the years to gamble on every sport and at virtually every sports betting site licenced in the UK, always in the search of “value”. These days restricted to getting bets on at the exchanges for the most part he still keeps his hand in but spends more time focused on sharing his knowledge and experiences with us and our readers.

  • Favourite sport: To watch it would be Football if Norwich City FC are playing. To play would be pool, petanque or chess. To bet on, well my turnover is probably the highest on Horse racing but it is not a favourite as it is not actually fun, it just makes me money. My favourite sport to bet on for fun is Darts. You get some crazy swings and there is a lot more maths involved in the scoring than people give credit for.
  • Biggest win: Odds wise I think it was Donald Trump to win the 2016 US election when he first announced he was running, I got 100/1 and wish I had bet more than a fiver! For actual winnings, it was when I ran a syndicate for the UK Tote Scoop6 when the bonus race was up to £500k. We won the preliminary race first attempt and that afternoon I had about £83k credited to my Betfair account, the highest amount it has ever been. (We lost the bonus race though).
