Serie A Outright Odds for 2023/24

The Serie A is the top division of the Italian football championship. The league is considered one of the strongest in Europe: as of the beginning of the 2023/24 season, Italy ranks third in the UEFA club coefficient ranking, after England and Spain.

In their selections of betting markets, bookmakers try to offer not only bets on individual matches, but also outrights. Serie A winner odds 2023/24 options are the most popular. They imply betting on a team that will finish ranking first in the league tables at the end of the 2023/24 season.

In 2022, the rule of the "golden match" was returned to the Serie A. If the top two teams have an equal number of points at the end of the season, the fate of the championship will be determined in an extra match on a neutral field. Other stats are not taken into account.

It’s pretty hard to predict the winner in advance, but in case of success, you can receive a decent payout at good odds. You can check out Serie A favourites according to bookmakers below:

Serie A Contenders Bet365 Odds
Inter Milan 2.75
Napoli 4.00
Juventus 4.00
AC Milan 6.00
AS Roma 15.00
Lazio 19.00
Atalanta 23.00
Fiorentina 67.00
Monza  251.00
Torino 251.00

Bookmakers give Inter Milan the best chances of winning this season. This summer, the bronze medalist of the previous Serie A campaign resolved their main problem – the level of defensive players. Yann Sommer, Benjamin Pavard, Davy Klaassen and other summer signings are expected to help the club in the battle for the title.

Among Serie A winner odds options, Napoli stands out as well. The FC is the reigning champion that has managed to keep the team core despite attempts by other top clubs to recruit their main stars. However, due to disagreements with Napoli's management, Luciano Spalletti, the head coach, has left the club. Rudi Garcia was invited to take his place, but whether he will cope with such a challenge, we’ll find out this season.

Juventus is another serious contender for victory. Due to violations of UEFA financial rules last season, the club lost 10 points, which cost them their third-place spot in the table. There haven't been major changes in the team during this transfer window, so the team is ready to fight for Serie A medals once again.

Most Wins in the Serie A

The 2023/24 season will be the 122nd edition in the history of the Serie A. Juventus is the most successful club in the Italian football championship. The FC holds 36 trophies, seven of which were won in the last decade (from 2013/14 to 2019/20).

Inter Milan and AC Milan share second place in the list of the most titled Serie A clubs, with 19 trophies each. Simultaneously, both clubs have recently replenished their title collections: Inter Milan became champions in 2021 and AC Milan did so in 2022.

Napoli is the reigning Italian champion. Last season's victory became the third for the club in its entire history. The complete list of Italian football's main trophy winners is provided in the table below:

Team Number of the Serie A title wins
Juventus 36
Inter Milan 19
AC Milan 19
Genoa 9
Torino 7
Bologna 7
Pro Vercelli 7
AS Roma 3
Napoli 3
Lazio 2
Fiorentina 2
Cagliari 1
Casale 1
Novese 1
Verona 1
Sampdoria 1

Serie A Relegation Odds for 2023/24

According to the Serie A rules, the teams that finish in the last three positions in the league table are relegated to the Serie B, the lower division. Their spots are filled by the top two teams from the Serie B, as well as the winner of the playoff, which includes teams from the third to eighth positions. But if, at the end of the season, the team in third place is ahead of the club in fourth place by 15 or more points, the playoffs are not held and the last slot in the top division is taken by the team ranking third.

Under the new Serie A rules, a relegation playoff match is possible. If the teams ranking 17th and 18th in the championship score the same number of points, they will play a match to for the right to stay in the league. In the 2022/23 season, this situation occurred with Spezia (17th place in the league) and Verona (18th place), with 31 points each. Verona won the relegation playoff match 3-1 on a neutral field in Reggio Emilia.

Serie A relegation options are one of the types of the Serie A outright odds. Here you choose a team that will finish in one of the last three positions at the end of the championship and be relegated to a lower division. According to bookmakers, the following teams are most likely to be relegated:

Team Bwin odds
Empoli 1.65
Frosinone Calcio 1.65
Cagliari 2.00
Salernitana 2.50
Lecce 3.00
Verona 3.50
Genoa 3.50
Udinese 6.00
Sassuolo 9.00
Monza 15.00

Serie A Top Scorer Odds for 2023/24

You can place outrights not only on teams but also on individual players' performance indicators. A bet on a top scorer of the season is the most popular outright bet: it implies betting on a player who will score the most goals against their rivals during the tournament.

According to Serie A odds, Lautaro Martínez and Victor Osimhen are the main favourites in the race for the title of the top scorer of the 2023/24 season. Last year, both footballers scored the most goals in the Serie A. Osimhen performed slightly better, with 25 goals against 21 goals by Lautaro. Over the summer, no more high-profile forwards have joined the league, so it’s quite logical to expect another duel between these two players.

Player Bwin Odds
Lautaro Martínez 2.50
Victor Osimhen 2.75
Dušan Vlahović 5.00
Ciro Immobile 9.00
Olivier Giroud 12.00
Gianluca Scamacca 15.00
Rafael Leão 21.00
Marcus Thuram 26.00
Mateo Retegui 29.00
Paulo Dybala 34.00

Past Serie A Top Goal Scorers

Most often, the award for the top scorer of the Italian championship was granted to Swede Gunnar Nordahl (5 times), who played for AC Milan and AS Roma in the 1940s and 1950s. Ciro Immobile is his main rival in this "race". The 33-year-old Italian owns four such awards, with the last one received in the 2021/22 season.

Victor Osimhen is the current award holder. Last season, the player scored 26 goals in 32 matches. This year, despite all the transfer rumours, the forward continues to play for Napoli and has good chances to repeat last year's success.

Player Season Goals
Victor Osimhen 2022/23 26
Ciro Immobile 2021/22 27
Cristiano Ronaldo 2020/21 29
Ciro Immobile 2019/20 36
Fabio Quagliarella 2018/19 26

About Serie A Betting

The Serie A is the top division in the Italian football system. As of the beginning of the 2023/24 season, Italy holds the third position in the UEFA rankings, trailing only England and Spain.

The championship involves 20 teams. The 2023/24 season began on August 19, 2023, with the last round scheduled for May 26, 2024. The tournament is held in a round-robin system, where each club plays two matches against every other club, one at home and one away. The Serie A winner is determined by the number of points scored. If two leaders have the same number of points at the end of the season, a "golden match" is played. A relegation playoff match is also held if teams ranking 17th and 18th have the same number of points. In other cases with equal number of points, the teams' positions are determined by the following indicators:

  • Points earned in head-to-head meetings between teams.
  • Goal difference in matches between teams.
  • Overall goal difference in all matches.
  • Total number of goals scored.
  • A draw.

At the end of the 2023/24 season, the top four teams in the league will receive spots in the group stage of the 2024/25 Champions League. The club finishing fifth will enter the Europa League group stage. The team ranking sixth will advance to the final qualifying round of the 2024/25 UEFA Conference League. The three worst-performing FCs of the season will be relegated to the Serie B.

Since the 2018/19 season, individual awards have been given at the end of the championship. Here is a list of nominations and the current winners:

  • Best Goalkeeper – Ivan Provedel
  • Best Defender – Kim Min-jae
  • Best Midfielder – Nicolò Barella
  • Best Striker – Victor Osimhen
  • Best Young Player – Nicolò Fagioli
  • Most Valuable Player – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
  • Most Valuable Coach – Luciano Spalletti

Serie A Markets on UKClubSport

The Serie A is one of the most popular national football championships in the world. Renowned footballers, a high level of play, intense competition attract viewers to watch the tournament matches. Bookmakers understand this pretty well and strive to please their customers with a wide range of betting markets. In addition to standard 1/X/2 and O/U goals options, Serie A betting includes Asian handicaps, player props and many other additional markets.

There are also lots of outright Serie A 2023/24 odds. In addition to the aforementioned bets on the championship winner, top scorer and relegation contenders, you can, for example, bet on a team that will get a place in the Champions League (finish in the top 4). Some bookmakers accept special player props: for instance, whether Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will make more than 10.5 assists this season, etc.

Factors to consider when betting on the Serie A

For many football fans, Italy is first and foremost associated with Catenaccio (the chain) – a tactic that implies playing defensively. This style became very popular in Italy in the early 1950s. Since then, football has noticeably changed in the country, but many still associate Italians with a closed style of play. And this is a serious mistake of many bettors. Yes, the Serie A is far from being the most high-scoring championship. However, for example teams scored an average of 2.56 goals per match, which is more compared to Spain (2.51). So, O/U betting is justified here, albeit not in all matches.

Another interesting detail is that the Serie A has many innovative managers. Almost all of them manage outsiders, but this doesn’t prevent them from fighting for high places. In the last season, we can highlight Fiorentina with Vincenzo Italiano, which finished eighth in the championship and performed in two finals (Coppa Italia and the UEFA Conference League), or Monza with Raffaele Palladino, which finished 11th in its first Serie A season. Here, outsiders can be surprising, so keep this in mind when placing your bets.
