FanTeam Review from Our Team

FanTeam is a platform for those who love fantasy games and fantasy sports betting in particular, as well as betting on football and top tennis. There are several types of tournaments in the fantasy section with different entry fees. You can find a tournament with a good prize pool even with modest financial means.

The FanTeam sportsbook section surprises with competitive odds for football. FanTeam offers the widest range of betting options with about 40 different level championships. In tennis, FanTeam offers only major competitions (mainly the Grand Slam and Masters tournaments under the auspices of ATP and WTA). The other sports periodically appear and disappear from the list without a clear timetable.

In the UK, online bookmakers are banned for those under 18 years old. Remember about responsible gambling, play responsibly on safe sites registered by the UK Gambling Commission.

FanTeam Free Bets, Offers & Promotions

FanTeam rarely offers promotions for the users. The daily fantasy sports platform is already popular and the FanTeam sportsbook is not a priority for the company, so it is not full of welcome bonus offers, free bets, and other promotions. The only sports betting bonus available right now is the welcome offer for new customers.

100% bonus up to £20

FanTeam welcomes all new customers with a 100% deposit bonus on their first deposit up to £20. The rules for receiving this bonus offer and using it are as follows:

  • Make sure that the welcome bonus offer has been activated on the deposit page.
  • Make your first deposit; the qualifying deposit must be £10 or more.

  • Use the welcome bonus within 90 days (otherwise it will be canceled).
  • The minimum wagering requirements are x6. Your bonus needs to be wagered by turning over your initial deposit amount six times making bets on events with minimum odds of 1/1 (2.00) on the Sportsbook and Players Matchups.

Given that the minimum bonus amount is £10, anyone can get it. If new customers are not satisfied with the minimum wagering requirements, they can reject the welcome bonus on the deposit page.

FanTeam Odds

The FanTeam sportsbook section of the fantasy-oriented site is capable of surprising customers who are used to an average service. But what about the odds? How great are appetites of the small betting site compared to the big bookmakers?

Let's calculate the margin for a big football event: Manchester United vs Liverpool (English Premier League, August 22, 2022):

As you can see, FanTeam's odds for top matches, like English Premier League or UEFA Champions League games, are very competitive. In this respect, the small bookmaker outperforms not only the mid-tier actors, but also the big companies.

Betting tax varies from market to market, and sometimes significantly. Take the same English Premier League match Manchester United vs Liverpool. How much is the margin on the total over/under 2.5?

FanTeam's share of one of the most popular football markets is also quite modest, both overall and in comparison with the biggest companies.

The odds for matches of less major championships are also decent. On MLS, one of the most popular leagues after the European top five, the margin can be called below average. The same policy is applied to the second divisions of the strongest football countries. However, the margin is significantly increasing in the tier 3 leagues.

In other sports, even the most popular ones, it's difficult for FanTeam to compete with more reputable bookmakers. For example, consider such a sport as tennis: the margins on the Pablo Carreno Busta vs Miomir Kecmanovic tennis match at ATP Cincinnati on 16/08/22:

Conclusion: FanTeam can be recommended for users who want to bet on top football, for example on English Premier League, La Liga, or UEFA Champions League. The odds offered by this bookmaker can be called the best in the country when it comes to the highest level championships. For unpopular events the site offers typical odds, from medium to high, and in other sports FanTeam is inferior to big competitors.

What to Know About FanTeam

FanTeam is one of the largest websites of its kind in the world. The gaming platform from Scout, the provider, allows to create daily fantasy sports games with different conditions and of different duration.

A few years ago, the FanTeam sportsbook appeared on the website and the sports betting section came into the view of Match.Center experts. Read on in this FanTeam review how the brand has been developing and what it has to offer now.

FanTeam History

Information about the company is hard to find. Everything is fine legally, but we were not able to trace the full life path of this bookmaker. The customer service has not told us any interesting stories.

The service dates back to 2013, although the site opened on the current domain in 2015. FanTeam began operations under the Maltese licence MGA/B2C/368/2017. The company now holds a UK licence number 39669, which gives it the right to run fantasy sports games and accept sports bets in the United Kingdom.

Key Features of FanTeam Betting

Football is a key sphere in the FanTeam sportsbook. The number of bets is on par with an average betting site, however, most punters will be satisfied, not to mention the excellent odds for top matches.

Match.Center specialises on analysing betting sites, but we can't overlook the fantasy games that form the backbone of FanTeam.

In the Games section, customers play and compete for the prize pool. There are three sub-sections:

  • Official tournaments. These are competitions organised by FanTeam. They can be of two types: Daily (selecting players for fantasy teams, fantasy football for instance, from a single match or from a group stage of a tournament) and Season-long (you form a team and earn points as long as the season of a certain tournament is running). There may be different money prize pools with different entry fees for the same tournament: The higher the fees, the greater the potential winnings.
  • Draft'n'go. Small lobbies of 2-12 players that form fantasy teams for specific matches, tournaments or groups of tournaments.
  • User created. Fantasy sports competitions of any format and difficulty, invented by the players.

There are several other interesting sections in the gaming section:

  • New Lobby. A more structured categorization of tournaments (as opposed to the chaotic main section). Here you can not only play and take part in created competitions, but also to create your own.
  • Matchups. It's an interesting variation of the fantasy sports. FanTeam offers several pairs of players, fantasy football is a priority, e.g. Haaland - Salah and so on. A customer picks from three to ten players from the offered pairs (irrespective of the cost of the players, in contrast to the regular fantasy sports). The more players the customer select for his "accumulator ", the higher the multiplier of his winnings. All players must get more fantasy points in their "duels" in order for such a combination to win.
  • Star Pick. Another no-prize game, where a customer have to pick the best player of the game day or the game week of a certain tournament.
  • Pick'em'Jackpot. A drawing with a minimum entry fee, where you are asked to predict the results of 13 real matches from a given list. You can choose more than one outcome for safety purposes, even all three of 1X2, but then the entry fee is increased.

FanTeam Sports and Markets

The range of markets in the FanTeam sportsbook section is very uneven. Sports can be divided into two categories: regular and periodical. The principle of this division is suggested by the bookmaker itself by hiding the disciplines on which no bets are offered. This means that there are two or three disciplines in the list regularly, and the others are added periodically.

The regular sports in the FanTeam sportsbook are football, tennis and baseball.

⚽Football

Let's start with football. There are around 40 tournaments in total and over 200 events regularly:

  • Top tier. First and second divisions of England, Spain, Italy, Germany, France. For some countries there are bets on cup tournaments. From 150 to 250 markers per match.
  • International cups. All important European and Asian Champions' League tournaments are covered. From 100 to 150 markets.
  • All popular tier-2 leagues. Championships of Portugal, Netherlands, Denmark, Mexico, Brazil. Around 150 betting options.
  • Few exotics. Estonia, Serbia, China and few other leagues. 100-150 markers per match.

🎾Tennis

The choice of betting events for tennis teaches good taste. FanTeam pays attention only to the best events. Here you will find the Grand Slam tournaments, Masters singles and some other best tennis competition. No Challengers or ITF. In pre-match there are usually up to 20 bets, which is less than in live (up to 60).

⚾Baseball

The last regular discipline is baseball. More specifically, this is American MLB. Baseball often disappears from the range of markets, but during the season there are bets on at least half of the game day matches.

  • Basketball
  • Cricket
  • Golf
  • Hockey
  • Esports (CS:GO, Dota 2, LoL)
  • American football
  • Handball
  • UFC
  • Futsal
  • Bandy

FanTeam Live Betting

The selection of events in pre-match is limited, but the Live section narrows the opportunities of players even more. Let's look at three major sports - what gets taken from pre-match to live and how many markets can you expect to see?
  • Football. You can find here most first divisions, but second divisions like Brazil's Serie B and Spain's Segunda are no longer to be found. About 50 markets, regardless of the popularity of the event.
  • Tennis. ATP and WTA tournaments. From 40 to 60 bets.
  • Other sports. Not seen in live.

FanTeam seems to be shy of the Live section, as it's not even easy to find it. The selection of live markets is accessed via the Filter list which mostly features pre-match events. In addition, in some sections of the sportsbook the link to the Live section is not visible.

There is a separate Live Results section which is not related to live bets. Here you can place a pre-match bet. Live scoring for fantasy games is monitored there: who and how much was awarded for goal, goal pass, shots on target, how much was taken away for a yellow and red card, etc.

Speaking of statistics, let us note that the Live section only tracks scoring on goals and sets, but not additional statistics. You can do without statistics on shots on target in a football match, but the score in a tennis game is an important information. Is it 30:30 or 40:15? You'll have to look for the scoring elsewhere.

Of course, if you take live betting as an addition to the fantasy sports, you don't want to be too picky. There is live, odds change, bets are accepted. By the way, the selection of markets for top matches is not bad at all. But as a standalone phenomenon the FanTeam's Live section does not stand up to criticism.

Streaming on FanTeam

You won't find a single sports stream on the FanTeam site. Given the nature of the platform, this is not surprising. FanTeam is not some betting giant which can afford to buy the rights to live stream competitions in various sports. Nor is it a specialised betting site for horse and greyhounds racing in the UK and Ireland.

On the whole, streaming would come in handy even for the fantasy sports betting. Dry statistics captures trends, but not trend turnarounds, which can be discerned by watching and analysing the match.
